Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will be the next game in Ubisoft’s action-adventure franchise, it has been reported.
Multiple sources have revealed images and first details, which suggest a pirate theme that expands upon the ship sailing mechanics from Assassin’s Creed 3.
Firstly, photo of a poster was sent to Kotaku by a tipster who claims to have come across marketing material.
The other side of the poster also confirms a Caribbean location, and that it would be set on multiple islands including Jamaica, Cuba and the Bahamas.
The posters are said to be put up in retail stores in the week beginning Monday, March 4, suggesting a date when Ubisoft plans to officially announce the new game.
Elsewhere, the main character will be named Edward Kenway, a privateer, assassin and pirate, and father of Haytham Kenway from Assassin’s Creed 3, according to The Examiner.
It was added Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will launch on both current and next generation systems this year, including the PlayStation 4.
Meanwhile, the first in-game image running on Xbox 360 has appeared courtesy of Twitter user Nick Gigante.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently confirmed that the company is working on a new Assassin’s Creed game, saying that the title will feature a new protagonist in a new time period.
The new Assassin’s Creed game is supposed to be released during Ubisoft’s fiscal year 2014, which ends in April 2014.
