Super Mario…Lego?

Happy Friday everyone! The sun is out, the trees are blowing and the sky is clear.

I was StumbleUpon’ing while watching The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and came across a very very cool example of what you can do with a 3D scanner and Lego. Trust me, you wanna see this!

The creator Keith Brogan from Scotland used a NextEngine 3D scanner on a Mario figure which was then displayed in a mesh format on his PC.

There on Keith scaled the scan to a height of 75cm and spread an array of Lego pieces around the scan.

Using NextEngine Scan Studio’s Stencil functionality, Keith select the cubes which fitted on the Mario stencil to produce a pixelated image.

And after much building, here is the finished product in all its glory!

I think I speak for everyone when I say – Keith Brogan of Scotland, please make me one!!!!

Wishing you a great weekend filled with excitement and geekyness.
